Westside Little League officers meeting

Westside Little League will be choosing its officers for next season at a 7 p.m. meeting on Oct. 8 at the Arbuckle Golf Course. Anyone from Arbuckle, Maxwell and Williams wishing to be an officer must attend. It is open to the public.

Bears join fight to find a cure for cancer

The Pierce High volleyball program is spending the month of October raising money for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

During the Bears' three October home games against Live Oak (Oct. 2), Hamilton City (Oct. 18) and Willows (Oct. 30), players will be selling raffle tickets for a dessert auction and other donated prizes during both the junior varsity and varsity games.
