Kaily McKinley scored a game-high 15 points and Maxwell High (10-5, 4-1 MVL) beat host Biggs on Thursday.

Jessie Otterson added 10 points, Jenna Powell had six points and nine rebounds, Brittney Haywood scored six points, and Ashley Azevedo chipped in with five points and dished out six assists.

Williams (6-9, 0-4 MVL) made the long trip to Quincy and lost to the Trojans on Friday.

The Yellowjackets (6-3-1, 4-2-1) received three goals from sophomore forward Alex Gomez and Williams beat Hamilton on Thursday in Hamilton City. Midfielder Rury Ruiz assisted on each of Gomez's goals.

JV Boys Basketball

Colusa 48, Portola 18

Christopher Madrigal led the Colusa JV boys basketball team to a dominant 48-18 victory with 15 points Friday in Colusa. Jorge Moreno scored 13 points and Hunter Mobley added 10 for the RedHawks.
