Colusa Senior Girls thwart Wheatland
The Colusa County Senior Girls All-Stars won their district opener Monday night with a 9-7 victory over Wheatland, advancing to the semifinals.
Colusa starter Mack Van Fleet worked three innings and Kayla Cuhna hurled four relief innings for the win.
Katrina LaGrande led off the fifth inning with a home run and Shayla Maxey was 2-for-4 with three runs.
Abby Cranford, Kodi Gimblin and Laura Wells also scored twice for Colusa, who advanced to play the winner of Olivehurst/Linda and Sutter Buttes on Tuesday.
