TCN Sports Reporter Wanted

Tri-County Newspapers has an immediate opening for a part-time sports reporter. Duties include writing game stories and feature articles, primarily of high school games in Glenn County, as well as photography and some interactive work.

Candidates should have a strong interest in sports and journalism, and be able to meet strict deadlines. A cover letter and writing samples may be mailed to Sports Editor Craig Purcell, Corning Observer, 1208 Solano St., Corning CA 96021, or emailed to cpurcell@tcnpress.com.

Some experience is preferred, but candidates without experience will be considered.

Colusa County youth football fundraiser is Feb. 16

The Colusa County Youth Football/Cheer program is holding a crab, steak and chowder dinner and dance fundraiser Feb. 16 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds. The donation is $45 per person, and you must be 21 or older to attend. Cocktails are at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and a raffle/auction. Dancing is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. to the music of Highway 20.

Tickets are available at Rocco's Bar & Grill, 546 Market St. in Colusa, or from any CCYF boardmember. Tickets are also available at the door. Donations can be mailed to CCYF, PO Box 1243, Colusa, CA 95932.
