MaxPreps offering JV and freshmen coverage

One of the leading online sports sources is expanding its coverage to include information on high school junior-varsity and freshman sports teams.

MaxPreps.com, the high school sports source for CBSSports.com, announced Sept. 3 that it had extended their reach by offering coverage of junior varsity and freshman sports. The expanded coverage is expected to include schedules, scores, statistics, video, photos and editorial articles for thousands of JV and freshman squads.

Availability of the extended coverage is dependent on individual school and coaching input.

"The passion around high school sports isn't just about the varsity level but extends to the junior varsity and freshman teams," said Andy Beal, president of MaxPreps.com. "By expanding our coverage to include these levels and adding additional sports, we're catering to the coaches, student-athletes and fans around the world who are involved in and avidly follow these sports."

MaxPreps.com, with headquarters in Cameron Park, Calif., provides coverage of 14 sports on the varsity, junior varsity and freshman level.
