Local athletes graded among diamond's best
The action on the baseball and softball diamonds in the Northern Section was fast and furious this season, and now that the dust has settled the various league's making up the section have announced their all-league teams.
Players from schools in the tri-county area not only received all-league status, but a number of them rose to the very top to be named their leagues' most valuable players. Earning this elite recognition were Cody Deitz (Hamilton), Blake Vierra (Maxwell), Megan Hughes (Willows), Ashleigh Biggs (Colusa), Aubrey Bekendam (Hamilton) and Alison Costa (Maxwell). In addition, Shawn Miller (Maxwell girls softball) was named Coach of the Year for the Five Star League, and Ken Mason (Hamilton) was Co-Coach of the Year in the MVL-North. Los Molinos' Tom Stevens (baseball) was named Co-Coach of the Year in the MVL-South.
