Colusa 26, Marysville 6 (peewees)

The peewee team (2-3, 1-0 Southern) opened the conference schedule with a 26-6 victory against the host Marysville Chiefs on Saturday.

Jacob Havens ran for 91 yards and two touchdowns on offense, and made seven tackles and recovered a fumble on defense. Conner Saso ran for 40 yards and scored two touchdowns, Christian Lyss ran for 81 yards and Tommy Davis added 25 yards receiving.

Askil Coombs led the defense with nine tackles, Brenden Garcia made seven tackles and recovered a fumble, Derek Roa added seven tackles and Shane Calcagno made six.

Marysville 19, Colusa 6 (jr. midgets)

Dutch Kalfsbeek snapped a scoreless drought for the jr. midgets team with a 13-yard touchdown run Saturday in Marysville, but the Chiefs still won.

Kalfsbeek rushed for 57 yards and passed for 64 yards, all to Logan Vessels, for the Cowboys (0-5, 0-1 Southern).

Apolinar Pulido led Colusa with five tackles, and Ben Rainsbarger, Jorge Rodriguez and Eduardo Rodriguez made four apiece.

Levi Kalfsbeek blocked a PAT and Locan Vessels intercepted two passes, including one tipped by Fernando Castillo. Rainsbarger forced a fumble and Raymond Frias recovered it.

Colusa 44, Marysville 32 (midgets)

The midgets improved to 4-1 this year with a victory in the Northern California Federation Southern Conference opener Saturday against the host Marysville Chiefs.

Ricardo Ruvalcabe led an offensive explosion with 106 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Anthony Mena caught a 62-yard touchdown pass, rushed for 92 yards, and racked up 92 yards on punt returns.

Cole Travis passed for 76 yards, Lucas Davison ran for 49 yards and a touchdown and Dylan Jones ran for 43 yards.

The defense got in on the scoring as well. Davison returned an interception 28 yards for a touchdown, and Jones and Jayden Theodoru forced a fumble that Diego Serrano scooped up and ran in for a touchdown from 7 yards out.

Jones forced two fumbles to go along with his eight tackles, and Fabian Velazquez made five tackles and recovered a fumble.
