VARSITY FOOTBALL
Maxwell 56, Biggs 24
George Barajas scored four rushing touchdowns, Luis Rolon caught a touchdown and returned a fumble the distance for a score and the Panthers ran past Biggs in Mountain Valley League play on Friday.
Eddie Rangel scored on a 20-yard run and Santiago Gonzalez also recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown for Maxwell (6-3, 3-1 MVL).
Barajas rushed for 179 yards and passed for another 70 yards. Rolon had 158 yards total offense, and Blake Vierra ran for 70 yards on six carries.
Luis Rolon, A.J. Rolon and Daniel Manson each had a sack, and Barajas and Santiago Gonzalez had interceptions.
The Panthers finish the season on the road against University Prep in Redding on Friday.
Quincy 50, Williams 22
Quincy High pulled away from Wiliams with a 28-point third quarter to win the Mid-Valley League contest.
The Yellowjackets played well in the first half and entered the break tied 22-22 but couldn't slow down an explosive Trojans offense, which piled up more than 500 total yards.
Williams (2-7, 1-3 Mountain Valley League) travels to Colusa on Friday for the final regular season game.
Princeton 44, Westwood 28
Princeton closed out the regular season with a 44-28 road victory against a Westwood team that won just one game all season.
The Eagles (6-3, 4-1 South 8-Man) took second place in league and begin the playoffs on Friday against Butte Valley in Princeton.
JUNIOR VARSITY
Maxwell 14, Biggs 0
The Panthers junior varsity football team stretched its streak of shutouts to five games with a 14-0 victory against Mid-valley League foe Biggs on Friday.
Martin Rangel scored two touchdowns and had 95 yards offense, and made eight tackles and intercepted a pass on defense.
Scott Wells ran for 55 yards and made 10 tackles, and Hunter Mobley passed for 93 yards and rushed for 45 yards.
